This work is part of the series Komfort Skulptur by artist Tine Bek, produced during her residency at Palazzo Monti based in Brescia, Italy. Inspired by the elaborate window displays of Denmark’s oldest confectionery Conditori La Glace in Copenhagen, Bek creates the sublime foam sculptures—meant to be temporary—and photographs the pieces for the ongoing series. Komfort Skulptor continues Bek’s exploration of materials and forms of the everyday, reflecting on the tension and beauty of impermanence. Apollo on the Stairs was shown in the 2020-2021 exhibition Transatlantico at Mana Contemporary, Jersey City.
