In this work by Rachel Schultz, large, sequential gestures unfold intuitively across the page. Schultz offers up a figural landscape amongst which emotions and relations can linger, or transit. Here amongst the field of figures, the artist appears to be seeking, rehearsing, and apprehending a moment of essential human recognition — an impulsive yet concentrated expression of gesture.
Rachel Schultz, b. 1992, New York, is an artist based in New York City. Schultz also works as Creative Associate at Minnesota-based boutique Idun, and received her MPA in social impact, innovation, and investment from New York University.
