12 House: puddle, 2017

Paige Mehrer often mines symbology from religious to ancient sources to explore the intertwining psychological and physical manifestations of one’s self. In this watercolor work, she employs astrology to examine her “internal narratives,” illustrating a house in various forms suffering under the rule of water sign Pisces. The piece was created for Mehrer’s zine 12 House, which was published by TXTBooks and debuted simultaneously at Toronto Comics Art Festival 2018 and MissRead Berlin 2018.
