'Straight-On' is an art object in the form of a box that contains 12 prints. The collection of prints tells the story of a boy stuck in the middle of nowhere who longs for someone that doesn't exist and is having visions of a life unknown. Each box is lined with unique hand-made paper. The prints within the box are each 6” x 8”, printed on archival satin baryta paper, signed, and an edition of 60.
Jackson conceived of Straight On as a photobook with a more dynamic means of interaction, where the prints can exist as a compilation or independently from one another. Jackson’s photography spans landscape and portraiture to still life and interior, and are often infused with humor and sensuality. Across his body of work, Jackson employs a distinctive painterly style with a deliberate use of color and form in his compositions.
