This work by Rachel Schultz reads as a vignette into the artist’s shifting attention. Schultz however has an appetite for the subtle changes in things, and with these musings calls us to bear witness to the unfolding drama of domestic life, with its fluctuations of vitality, repose, and decay.

Rachel Schultz, b. 1992, New York, is an artist based in Saint Paul, MN. With her floral studies and figurative works, Schultz explores subtle changes in domestic scenes around her, asking the viewer to bear witness to the unfolding drama of domesticity, with its fluctuations of vitality, repose, and decay. She often employs a buoyant palette, poetic mark making, and intuitive forms. Schultz also works as Creative Associate at Minnesota-based boutique Idun, and is studying for an MPA Public & Nonprofit Management & Policy at NYU.
