Appropriating a range of source material such as instructional flash-cards, vintage postcards and magazine pages, Todd Colby builds his works around existing cultural motifs. Adding sharp tongued humour with varying degrees of subtlety the resulting poems, collages, and drawings amplify and undercut our everyday experiences. With wit and at times alarming acuity, Colby offers a tragicomic view in a world of contradictions.
