Designed by Natalie Tischler in 2025, Ghost Lamp reflects the artist’s approach to making, grounded in perception and materiality, and manifesting in both concrete and abstract forms. Natural latex sheeting is stretched using double fish hooks, joined through their eye rings, and hooked onto a metal frame. The contrast between fragile, organic material and rigid metal with sharp hooks creates a moment of tension and suspension—a liminal state caught between form and dissolution.
Natalie Tischler is an artist and spatial designer based in New York. Her work – and life – is grounded in the ordinary moments, textures, patterns, and images of her everyday. She’s always questioning how we see, think, and move through the world, often expressed through language, observation, and design.
The Ghost Lamp can function as a table lamp or suspended as a pendant light. Each piece is handmade to order in Brooklyn, New York. The metal frame is fabricated by John Wells Metal, constructed from 1/2" x 1/8" stainless steel bars that are bent, welded, and polished by hand.
