Book Launch and Groupchat at Picture Room: 'Out of Paper' by Katie Anania & Tyler Coburn

Picture Room is pleased to host Out of Paper : a Book Launch and a Groupchat by Katie Anania and Tyler Coburn, October 22nd, 6pm-8pm.

Is paper a tool for making new worlds? Can it provide unique escape routes from industrial systems, a mode of amplification for incarcerated or institutionalized people, or ways of evading state power? To celebrate the release of Out of Paper: Drawing, Environment, and the Body in 1960s America, art historian Katie Anania and artist Tyler Coburn (editor of Solitary, a collective experiment in site-specific writing) will be in conversation about the histories of works on paper and how they impact the politics of the present.

Katie Anania is an art and design historian based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tyler Coburn is an artist, writer, and teacher based in New York.
