Seraph Kiss, 2017

Paige Mehrer often mines symbology from religious to ancient sources to explore the intertwining psychological and physical manifestations of one’s self. In this watercolor work, floral imagery in vibrant palettes complement celestial figures, inspiring the series title Seraph. The piece was created for the 2017 anthology It’s True, which also included zines by Sophie Page and Haejin Park. It’s True is the third publication published by Plum Press, the micropublishing and creative collective Mehrer founded with Page and Park.

Paige Mehrer is an illustrator who lives and works in New York.
