An evening of poetry curated by Todd Colby. Colby has invited Billy Cancel, Dorothea Lasky, and Amy Lawless to share work.

Todd Colby is an artist, poet and performer. He is the author of Splash State (The Song Cave, 2014). He shows his works on paper at Picture Room.

Billy Cancel’s poetry has recently appeared in Boston Review & PEN America. His collection MOCK TROUGH RASPING CROW was released last month by BlazeVOX Books. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Thursday Fernworthy (Lauds) and together they perform as the noise-poetry duo Tidal Channel.

Dorothea Lasky is the author of five books of poems, most recently Milk (Wave Books, 2018). She lives in New York City and teaches poetry at Columbia University's School of the Arts.

Amy Lawless is the author of the poetry collections My Dead (2013) and Broadax (2017), both from Octopus Books. With Chris Cheney, Lawless co-authored the hybrid book I Cry: The Desire to Be Rejected (2016) from Pioneer Works Press’ Groundworks Series. Her chapbook A Woman Alone is out now from Sixth Finch. In 2011, Lawless received a NYFA poetry fellowship. She teaches writing workshops and lives in Brooklyn. 

Todd Colby, b. 1962, is a Brooklyn-based artist and writer. Colby’s sixth book of poetry, Splash State, was published by The Song Cave in 2014. He was also one of the participating artists in the MoMA PS1 exhibition Greater New York (2015).
