Pedestrian Magazine Launch

Pedestrian Magazine’s second issue! Pedestrian is a bi-monthly publication that finds value in the accumulation of accounts, routines, and relationships that are formed as a result of traveling throughout ones everyday surroundings. This new issue features a collection of found signs from Green Line, a Queens grocery store that recently went out of business, presented by Alexander Wolfe, selected songs for walking by Nina Bower Crooke, a review of walking fitness tapes discovered by Mario Valentino Martinez, and more.

To celebrate the launch, Pedestrian has invited issue 2 contributors Ebrima Jassey and Salieu Suso to play live music. Suso and Jassey are Gambian musicians and composers born into a family of Jali’s that extends back nearly 1000 years. Playing the Kora harp and Balafon respectively, Suso and Jassey have played extensively in Africa and Europe before settling in New York City. They both currently play in the African Jaliya Kafo, led by Suso, and perform with other musicians throughout the United States.

Pedestrian Magazine issue 2 features: Alexandra Roth, Ebrima Jassey, Salieu Suso, Alexander Wolfe, Nina Bower Crooke, Mario Valentino Martinez
