Utsuwawa is a collection of handcrafted objects of beauty and use for everyday life. Utsuwawa is guided by the idea that when chosen carefully, the objects we surround ourselves with daily may serve as vessels of meaning and understanding of a life beyond our own. Having spent the last few years traveling in Japan in search of work by artists and craftsmen whose work embodies this spirit, Utsuwawa has curated a selection exclusively for Picture Room this holiday season.
Also on display and available for purchase will be over 30 Kokeshi dolls that Picture Room has spent the last year collecting. Kokeshi dolls are simple, hand carved and painted wooden dolls from northern Japan.
