Scattered is part of a series of pen and ink drawings throughout which the artist recreated rooms from memory. These rooms are where he met people and spent time with them. Using a language of narrative objects, Jams constructs emotional spaces filled with evidence of past relationships and moments of activity.
Jeremy Jams, b.1983, Philadelphia, is an artist and publisher based in Brooklyn NY. Aside from his personal drawings mostly made with pen, markers and ink, Jeremy Jams publishes risograph prints with his artist-run publishing platform, Soft City, that he co-founded in 2015. His practice is very much focused upon collaboration and making with other artists. His work has been exhibited in multiple galleries and group shows across the United States. He often shows work of his own, or with Soft City, at the NYABF at MoMA PS1, IABF in Brooklyn, NY, and the SFABF in San Francisco.
