William Wegman

William Wegman, b. 1943, Holyoke, Massachusetts, works in various mediums including painting, drawing, video, and photography. Wegman lives and works in New York and Maine. Recent gallery exhibitions include William Wegman: New and Used Furniture at Marc Selwyn Fine Art and William Wegman: Paintings at Sperone Westwater Gallery. He’s had past solo shows with Sonnabend Gallery, Situation Gallery, and Konrad Fisher Gallery. Retrospectives of Wegman’s work have also traveled internationally and include “Wegman World” at the Walker Art Center, “Funney/Strange” at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and “William Wegman: Paintings, Drawings, Photographs, Videotapes,” which opened at the Kunstmuseum and traveled to the Centre Pompidou and The Whitney Museum of American Art. His work was featured in Documenta V and is regularly featured in Interfunktionen, Artforum, and Avalanche magazines.
