Featured Artist Poster: Maia Ruth Lee, 2016

This poster was printed on the occasion of Picture Room’s Featured Artist show with Maia Ruth Lee in the Summer of 2016. The Picture Room graphic identity, designed by Benjamin Critton, nods to the rectangle as the historic mode of art-making, using classical proportions to enact various iterations of the Golden Ratio.

Maia Ruth Lee, is an cross disciplinary artist b. 1983, Busan, South Korea. Lee grew up in Nepal, and now lives and works in Salida, Colorado. Lee’s recent 2021 solo exhibition was presented at Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver. Lee’s other solo exhibitions took place in 2016 and 2018 at Eli Ping Frances Perkins (NY) and Jack Hanley Gallery (NY) respectively. Lee participated in numerous group exhibitions including the Whitney Biennial 2019, CANADA gallery, Studio Museum 127, Salon 94 in New York. Lee was recipient of the Rema Hort Mann grant in 2017 and her work is held in the public collections at the Whitney Museum of American Art. 
Benjamin Critton, b. 1983, is an American artist and graphic designer. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Art, and lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
